| Genie des Eaux: sculpture, Shanghai, 2008. During a summer residency at 1918 artspace i realised this sculpture. It is a combination of 2 intercontinental and intercultural travellers, both contextualised through paint. On top the universal water gallon, known from millions of office spaces around the world, put into a local context with patterns taken from chinese porcelain. Below a cheap copy of a character from 'Arc de Triomphe', which i moved back in time through color as well. Find more works here. |
